Become a

Volunteer Tutor

Make a difference in the life of an adult learner.

Volunteer tutors help adults across Genesee County strengthen reading, prepare for the GED, build English language skills, and work toward their learning goals.

The Volunteer Tutor Alliance (VTA) connects volunteers with adult learners and local Adult Learning Centers throughout Genesee County. Tutors may work one-on-one with learners, support programs at Adult Learning Centers, or volunteer in community settings such as libraries and nonprofit organizations.

You don’t need to be a teacher or have previous tutoring experience. Volunteers receive training, resources, and ongoing support to help them feel prepared and confident in their role.
