Genesee County Literacy Coalition would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who supported our recent Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser. Your participation, purchases, and

shares helped make this event a meaningful success.


Because of your support, we are able to continue strengthening literacy initiatives across Genesee County. Funds raised will help sustain our literacy programs and support key initiatives such as the Danielle Brown Scholarship and technology bundles for adult learners, helping expand access to reading resources and promote lifelong learning throughout our community.


Fundraisers like this play an important role in helping the Coalition continue its mission of advancing literacy as a foundation for personal growth, educational achievement, and community success.


We are grateful to everyone who purchased popcorn, shared the fundraiser with friends and family, or supported our efforts in any way.

Genesee County, MI —Genesee County Literacy Coalition (GCLC) is excited to announce that our Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser is now live, running from Monday, February 23 at 5:00 p.m. through Friday, February 27 at 5:00 p.m.


This virtual fundraiser gives supporters the opportunity to enjoy gourmet popcorn while supporting literacy initiatives that empower learners across Genesee County.


The fundraiser features a variety of popular Double Good popcorn flavors, with 50% of all proceeds directly supporting GCLC’s literacy programs. Funds raised will help cover operational costs and support key initiatives, including the Danielle Brown Scholarship and technology bundles for adult learners, expanding access to reading resources and promoting lifelong learning throughout the community.

Simple Habits for Better Rest



Flint, MI – March 2026 — Genesee County Literacy Coalition (GCLC) invites the community to attend Session VI of our Health Literacy Workshop series: Sleep Hygiene – Simple Habits for Better Rest. This free Lunch and Learn event will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library (Flint Central Room A/B).


This session will explore how healthy sleep habits impact overall health and well-being. Participants will learn how sleep affects the brain, heart, immune system, and mood, and discover practical strategies to improve sleep quality. Topics will include building a consistent sleep routine, creating a restful sleep environment, managing stress, limiting screen time, and understanding common sleep challenges.


As part of GCLC’s Promoting Literacy for Better Health Outcomes community series, this workshop empowers individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed health decisions. Attendees will receive a free educational resource and practical takeaways to support healthier sleep habits.


The program includes a free lunch, an interactive educational presentation, and a live Q&A session with a physician who will address questions about sleep health and related medical

concerns.
