Simple Habits for Better Rest



Flint, MI – March 2026 — Genesee County Literacy Coalition (GCLC) invites the community to attend Session VI of our Health Literacy Workshop series: Sleep Hygiene – Simple Habits for Better Rest. This free Lunch and Learn event will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gloria Coles Flint Public Library (Flint Central Room A/B).


This session will explore how healthy sleep habits impact overall health and well-being. Participants will learn how sleep affects the brain, heart, immune system, and mood, and discover practical strategies to improve sleep quality. Topics will include building a consistent sleep routine, creating a restful sleep environment, managing stress, limiting screen time, and understanding common sleep challenges.


As part of GCLC’s Promoting Literacy for Better Health Outcomes community series, this workshop empowers individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to make informed health decisions. Attendees will receive a free educational resource and practical takeaways to support healthier sleep habits.


The program includes a free lunch, an interactive educational presentation, and a live Q&A session with a physician who will address questions about sleep health and related medical

concerns.
